West Virginia University's Board of Governors heard from President Mike Garrison on how he plans to handle a scandal over the award of an unearned master's degree to the governor's daughter.

Garrison was originally expected to make his presentation next week, but asked the board to move up the timetable to Friday afternoon.

Despite repeated calls that he must resign, Garrison has refused to do so and continues to receive the board's support.

Garrison's report is a follow-up to an investigation that found that WVU administrators decided to add courses and grades to Heather Bresch's transcript after the validity of the master's degree she claimed on her resume came into question.
