Candidates are crisscrossing the Valley, trying to leave a final good impression with voters. Among those on the road are the two men vying for the 15th District Virginia House of Delegates seat.

Jim Blubaugh is vying for that position as a Democrat. Blubaugh was in New Market Friday, meeting with voters and spreading a message of compromise.

He says Virginia politics have become too polarized and many important issues are being overlooked.

Blubaugh says he wants to take a "business like" approach to government.

"I think I, like a lot of individuals in the state, were getting tired of the fact that there was a lot of discord in Richmond and Washington, a lot of fighting going back and forth in politics," said Blubaugh. "I also felt that there wasn't anyone representing the person in the middle anymore."

This is Blubaugh's first run for public office. He says his experience will help him if elected. Blubaugh is a retired federal executive for the state and commerce departments.
