So far, 124 donors have told the fundraising arm of West Virginia University that they will withhold donations until there is a leadership change.

R. Wayne King is director of the WVU Foundation Inc. He says those donors have given gifts in the past that range from $1,000 to $450,000.

The number of angry donors has tripled since the beginning of May. King says he's worried how many others might feel the same way, but who have not sent an e-mail or called to complain.

King says he's heard from 130 people in all, and only six defended President Mike Garrison over a degree scandal that has dogged him for months.

King says that until the leadership situation is resolved, the timing of fundraising campaigns remains in limbo.
