A man from Augusta County will spend the rest of his life behind bars for killing a man near Lynchburg.

Robert Charles Gleason Jr. was sentenced to life in prison Thursday morning.

In April, Gleason pleaded guilty to shooting Michael Jamerson. The fatal shooting took place in Amherst County, near Lynchburg, in May 2007.

Investigators say Gleason shot Jamerson four times and left his body in a rural part of the county along Route 130.

Attorneys say the men were in the area to buy meth.
