Democratic congressional candidate Sam Rasoul made a stop in the Valley Wednesday to discuss health care.

Rasoul teamed up with a doctor from the Augusta Medical Center and a small business owner to discuss how hard it is for Americans to purchase health insurance at a reasonable rate.

Rasoul says he supports house bill HR 676, which he believes is key in getting every American health insurance.

Sam Rasoul says, "HR 676 is a compromise, because it combines the cost saving benefits of a single payer system, with the freedom of a privately delivered health care system."

Rasoul adds that small businesses should be given tax breaks in order to help them provide employees with health insurance.

WHSV Poll
A committee in the House of Delegates has sent a bill to the House floor that would allow private, faith-based adoption agencies to discriminate against prospective parents based on their sexual orientation. Would you support this?

Yes, I think if it is a private organization it's okay.
No, there should be no discrimination.
It should depend on a case by case basis.
