The Waynesboro Salvation Army is enforcing new rules when it comes to donating clothing and items for their thrift store.

Maj. Linda Sloan says they're having problems with people throwing trash and used items into the shed which holds donated clothes and furniture.

After calling the police, Sloan says they will now only accept donations from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. when someone is there to guard the shed.

She says, "If everybody that has like furniture and everything would just call, we can schedule pick-ups. We're hoping that the community will pull together and help."

Waynesboro police will now patrol the alley behind the Salvation Army and if they find anyone throwing away trash or other items, they could be arrested.
