PETERSBURG, Va. (AP) -- Two Virginia State University students are missing after they entered the Appomattox River.

Media outlets report that authorities plan to resume a search for the students Monday morning.

The search began Saturday after the students were reported missing. Police say they entered the river with a group near the campus in Petersburg and were last seen near the Martin Luther King Bridge.

The university identified the students as freshmen Jauwan Holmes and Marvell Edmonson.
