Two Charged in Fatal Shooting of Boy in Orange Co.

Two people face child abuse and neglect charges stemming from the fatal shooting of a 10-year-old boy in Orange County.

ORANGE, Va. (AP) -- Two people face child abuse and neglect charges stemming from the fatal shooting of a 10-year-old boy in Orange County.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office says the shooting occurred late Sunday night at a residence on Matthews Mill Road. The boy died at the scene. His name hasn't been released.

Deputies charged 36-year-old Tina Marie Toombs and 37-year-old Billy Joe Lee, both of Orange, with felony child abuse and neglect. Lee also is charged with child endangerment and two firearms counts.

The sheriff's office says in a news release that the investigation is ongoing and no other details will be released.
