A Strasburg woman accused of trying to drown her five-year-old son was in court Thursday.

Last April, police and rescue squads responded to a phone call made by Samantha Elizabeth Dale who said her son was in the bath tub and not breathing.

The five year old later told hospital staff that his mother held him under the water.

Dale is facing three charges and, if found guilty on all three, she could spend 35 years behind bars.

The case heads to the grand jury on July 16.
