Augusta County Deputies are investigating a pair of vehicle break-ins that happened the same night in different hotel parking lots. Both happened on Monday night, one at the Hampton Inn on Payne Lane and the other at Sleep Inn on Jefferson Highway. In both cases, the window of the car was broken.

The car parked at the Hampton Inn had a leather briefcase and a video projector stolen, worth a total of $4,150. The car at the Sleep Inn had a laptop stolen and a digital camera, worth $1,950 total.

In Rockingham County, deputies are investigating a similar issue. They say someone stole a $2,000 laptop from a car that was parked at Gayle's Quick Stop on Eastside Highway in Port Republic. That break-in also happened Monday evening.

In Shenandoah County, deputies are investigating a pair of burglaries. Deputies say someone broke into two businesses at the same complex on Main Street in Edinburg last Wednesday. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken from The Piccadilly House and Crystal Gallery.

Harrisonburg Police are reporting a break-in on the 1000 block of Chicago Avenue. Police say someone broke into the home in the middle of the afternoon on Tuesday and stole cash and personal items.

Staunton Police are reporting a gas drive-off at the Texaco Food Mart on Springhill Road on Monday night. The gas was worth $33.

Augusta County deputies have arrested Justin Butt and charged him with grand larceny. Butt is accused of stealing a mortar mixer earlier this month.

If you have any information about the cases still under investigation, please call your local sheriff's office or police department.
