A man accused of drag racing in Augusta County now faces an additional charge of driving while intoxicated.

Twenty-two-year-old Cory Beasley was charged Monday in Augusta County District Court.

Brittany Engleman was a passenger in Beasley's car in October during an incident police say involved a race with another vehicle on Route 42 in Buffalo Gap.

Engleman died as a result of a car crash from the alleged race. Beasley, along with Robert Gaylor and Torrence Mack, were indicted on involuntary manslaughter charges for Engleman's death.

Beasley's hearing is set for September 23.

Wow, let me educate you. They took blood from Brittany at AMC, it came back neg. of anything. And Brittany had only been hanging around him 3 weeks, there for I don't believe she had been racing all her short life. Enthusiast for speed, your lack of intelligent's is simply amazing. Brittany was scared of going fast. And Tag along, lets choose our words with more respect, Cory picked her up from her house. No one is speaking of things untrue but you. Let the fact be known, Cory was legally drunk, and had two narcotics in his blood, non of which he could provide legal prescription. Or at least that is what forensics testified. Let me dummy this down for you, so you can comprehend this aspect. He was wasted in your terms. And he was charged accordingly. You cannot speak for Brittany for she is no longer with us. So lets refrain from fiction statements as yours.

Okay, so from what I'm reading the big debate is over these men being intoxicated, and having narcotics in their system? How about the fact that Brittany herself had been drinking that night as well? I do believe she was 18..making it even more of a situation. I honestly do not believe that Brittany had any reason not to trust these men..She had been with them before in similar situations and chose to continue to tag along telling me one thing..maybe, just maybe she was a little more of an enthusiast for speed than her family was aware of. There's no doubt that this is a bad scenario all the way around, but just because one is gone doesn't mean that the remaining 3 should spend life behind bars. You guys continue to speak things that are not proven, let me ask you this. If Britt were here, would this be what she wants? To see her friends, whom she cared for dearly behind bars?

To all of those people out there who keep calling this an accident, think about this, yes it might have been an accident, but if someone accidently shot your child, or loved one, or accidently crashed into them and killed them, would you be so apt to say it was an accident let them go with no punishment? I doubt. So like we always say put yourself in their shoes for a day, or even a minute and know the person who killed you loved one is free, and unpunished to maybe accidently kill again!
