The FDA says it's not sure if tomatoes are the cause of the recent salmonella outbreak.

This new speculation has restaurant owners in the area frustrated. They want to know for sure if they are wasting time and money with tomatoes right now.

Ron Bishop, Manager of the Mill Street Grill in Staunton, says, "It's really a shame. Think a lot of tomatoes that weren't spoiled got thrown away."

Tomatoes remain the top suspect and the FDA continues to encourage consumers to avoid the ones included in the original warning.
