Harrisonburg High School's head football coach and athletic director will stay in their positions for the upcoming school year.

The school board voted five to one to confirm the coaches' positions Tuesday. Board member Sallie Strickler cast the lone dissenting vote.

School administrators recently released the findings of their own investigation into allegations of prescription drug abuse among football players.

Strickler said she felt the board should discuss the issue more thoroughly before voting.

"I just have real concerns as we move forward about the leadership of our football program and making certain that we're doing what's in the best interest of our children," says Strickler.

None of the other school board members had any comments to make after Strickler's. So the board went ahead and voted to confirm the coaching re-appointments.
