SI International, an information technology company, is having to lay-off employees.
Twenty-one people working in Harrisonburg have been added to the unemployment list.
The company's office in Harrisonburg processes patent and trademark applications.
Since fewer applications have been coming into the office lately, the workload has gone down, which means there is a lower demand for employees.
