Safco Products Company plans to open a $17 million distribution center in Isle of Wight County.

Gov. Tim Kaine said Tuesday that the new facility will employ 40 people.

Donovan Ackerson, Safco's director of distribution and logistics, said the site will allow the company to improve its delivery times to the East Coast. Isle of Wight County's proximity to the Port of Virginia also was a factor.

New Hope, Minnesota-based Safco offers file storage, waste receptacles, document holders, footrests and other office products.

Story fails to mention all the jobs that will be lost in MN when this warehouse is opened.
