Prom night is suppose to be one of the best times in a girl's life.
But what about those who can't afford to get all dolled up?

The Staunton-Augusta Salvation Army is teaming up with the Cinderella Prom Project to help provide low-income teens with the proper attire to attend the big night.

A fairy god helper will assist the teens with a dress, accessories, make-up and hairstyle, all free of charge.

Teens should contact their guidance counselor for an invitation.

The project hopes that these teens will take the act of giving and one day return the favor.
"We hope that they will go on and make good careers for themselves and provide for their families and they will remember to give back too," says project coordinator, Rhonda Howdyshell.

The project is now in its third year and is asking for your help.

Howdyshell says the group needs more dresses and shoes, especially plus-size gowns.

Donations of new make-up for the girls are also being accepted.

The project starts this weekend and runs every Saturday through the last weekend in May.

For more information on donating to the project you can call (540)292-0978 or
