Hundreds gathered on Court Square to pray for peace. Many heard about this peaceful movement through word of mouth and the Internet. One participant says he's seen what war can do first hand and he's praying a peaceful resolution can still be met.
"I spent five years in Vietnam during the war," said Earl Martin, a protester. "I have carried to many children's bodies broken by war. I have to do everything I can and pray God will do what he can to avert war."
About 7,000 vigils have been scheduled for Sunday night in 140 countries.
