A local man won't have to spend any time behind bars even after pleading guilty to 13 felony sex crimes. Fifty-eight-year-old William Liddle of Port Republic faced almost 40 years in prison. Liddle has Multiple Sclerosis and on Monday, Rockingham County Circuit Court Judge John McGrath suspended the remainder of his sentence because of the medical condition. Liddle was a music teacher and plead guilty to taking indecent liberties with a teenage student. He is not allowed to access the Internet and must be supervised around juveniles.
