Some local high school students got the chance to give their ideas for what kind of businesses their town needs.
As part of an entrepreneurial course, Bridgewater College students came to a Broadway high school marketing class. They taught the kids how to start businesses and had them present business plans. Different local business people served as judges for the kids.
From a daycare to bed and breakfast, the kids had plenty ideas for what Broadway needs. And the winner who is an avid fisherman says he might actually put his business into place.
"I hang out with a crew that likes to go fishing after school and we didn't want to buy an worms at the convenient store anymore, so I thought I might as well make some money and put in a worm farm," says first place winner Taylor Fulk.
There were also second and third place winners. The kids got gift certificates from area businesses.
