Waynesboro, Va. A combination of dry weather and a malfunctioning hay bailer caused a brush fire in Waynesboro Wednesday afternoon.

A combination of dry weather and a malfunctioning hay bailer caused a brush fire in Waynesboro Wednesday afternoon.
The fire started shortly after 3 p.m. behind the Lowe's on the corner of Page Street and Lew Dewitt Boulevard.
The fire burned about an acre of land near a housing development.
It took firefighters just over an hour to put it out.
