Fire Chief Larry Shifflett says adjusting to the nation's terror alert system has taken some getting used to.
The department has installed new doorbell systems in all the stations in the past three weeks.
Normally, the doorbell would only ring in the dormitory area. But now that all entrances are blocked, Shifflett says more bells were needed.
"All four city stations are locked. All bay doors are down and will stay down until the alert level is reduced back to yellow," Shifflett explained.
He says all city employees have also been asked to be more observant. He says everyone should immediately report suspicious people and packages.
