Beef from a California-based company that was sent to the Goshen boy scout reservation is being recalled.

Health officials say while beef at the camp did test positive for E. coli, they cannot yet confirm that the beef is the main source of the outbreak.

Officials at the Virginia Department of Health say there are a number of ways to get E. coli and bad beef is only one of them.

Food-borne illness Epidemiologist Seth Levine says, "E. coli 157 can be spread several different ways, including through contaminated food, a person to person transmission, water sources and through contaminated surfaces. So we're looking at all those possibilities still."

Health officials say it will take several more weeks to say for sure if the beef from California is to blame for the outbreak.
