The Alcohol Beverage Control Administration has suspended a Huntington bar's liquor license after police found nearly $30,000 of crack cocaine hidden inside the establishment.

Huntington police responded to a call of shots fired at the 8th Avenue Club Wednesday night. Police said several people who were standing in front of the bar ran inside when police arrived, some trying to kick through a fence at the rear of the bar while others went back and forth into the bathroom.

No one was arrested, but police later found 93.2 grams of suspected crack cocaine in bags stashed throughout the club.

Michael Thomas has owned the club for 11 years. He also is employed by the city as a technical housing inspector.

Thomas says he'll likely close the bar.
