With the Endangered River's Report just coming out, you may be wondering what you can do to help save the Shenandoah River. The Friends of the North Fork Shenandoah River are holding a meeting April 22nd in Woodstock. It's being held at the John Marsh Armory. Registration begins at 9:30, and the meeting runs from 10 to 12:30. Members of the group say it's an opportunity for people to learn how they affect the river through their behavior. "Making their yard and their household river friendly, for example cutting back on pesticide use and fertilizer use, making sure their septic system is working properly, even conserving water," says Carol Stroebel, member of friends of the Shenandoah River. Local officials have been invited to the meeting. Stroebel says it's important for people to contact elected officials to emphasize the need for change to help the river.
