Fraternity Speaks Out

JMU's Sigma Chi fraternity house on South Main Street is covered with red, white and blue banners.

Many passers-by have taken the display as a political statement. Sigma Chi said it does support America, but the patriotic display is actually promoting a national fraternity fund-raiser.

"It's an annual event for sororities and fraternities to raise money for a local charity and we've chosen the Boys and Girls Club. It's good for the community and raises morale around the house," said Brain Krawczyk.

Residents of the apartment next door to the fraternity house also have something to say. Their banners protest the war.
