Schools in West Virginia now know if they passed the Average Yearly Progress, and some near the Valley didn't.

In Pendleton County, three of four schools passed.

However, Pendleton County High School did not. The school did pass for the 2006-2007 school year.

In Grant County, three of five schools passed.

Both Petersburg Elementary and Petersburg High schools did not pass for the second year running. The state Department of Education will be looking into the accreditation status of both of these schools.

However, in Hardy County, all five schools met the AYP standards for a second year in a row.
