Candidate Sam Rasoul is challenging incumbent Bob Goodlatte to a series of public debates across the Sixth District.

Rasoul's Deputy Communications Director says Representative Goodlatte continually makes excuses about not debating in the Sixth District. Rasoul says if Goodlatte had time to attend a Convention watch party Friday night, he should have time to discuss the issues facing the nation.

Rasoul says, "Unfortunately, as many incumbents are, the incumbent has been reluctant to engage in that debate as well as any other debate at this point."

Rasoul believes the Sixth District should have a series of six debates: two in Roanoke, two in Lynchburg, and two in the Valley. Rasoul says he will continue to challenge Goodlatte.
