A police drug task force says it has wrapped up a long investigation into violent crime in northwest Virginia.
The Northwest Virginia Regional Drug Task Force, along with federal agents, ended a 17-month-long investigation into drugs, guns and violent crime.
The task force says the probe resulted in the seizure of more than $5 million worth of crack cocaine, and indictments of 26 suspected drug dealers. Many have already been convicted.
Although the investigation centered on drug dealers in Front Royal, officials say several major players from the Washington, D.C. area were also arrested.
