Harrisonburg School Board is making every effort to get council to accept its long-range plan for the school system, which includes building a new elementary school.
If the city council decides not to support the long-range plan, superintendent Donald Ford said it means they will go back to the drawing board.
He added that a less expensive alternative to the proposed long-range plan will most likely be less desirable to the city, community and staff.
The school board has its regular meeting Tuesday. They will discuss what information to take to city council when they meet jointly on April 29.
