The case of a Lacey Spring woman accused of first degree murder is on its way to a grand jury.

Judge John Paul certified the charge against Donna Jean Hockman in Harrisonburg-Rockingham General District Court Thursday afternoon.

Hockman is accused in the shooting death of Dustin Stanley in late July.

The judge heard testimony Thursday from Stanley's family. They described Hockman as a jealous girlfriend and called her relationship with Stanley tumultuous.

If convicted, she faces a maximum penalty of life in prison. The grand jury date is set for Monday.
