In this week's What's Going Around, we begin in Page County.

Dr. Jeffrey Feit reports that allergies are pretty bad right now. He is also treating some lingering cases of gastroenteritis.

Down south in Waynesboro, Dr. Steven Mumbauer is also treating gastroenteritis, but he is also seeing sore throats, colds and even some sports injuries.

In the Central Shenandoah Health District, Epidemiologist Deborah Bundy-Carpenter wants to remind older citizens how to improve quality of life by reducing fall risks.

Every year, one in three adults age 65 and older falls. Twenty to 30 percent of those suffer moderate to severe injuries that can threaten their ability to live healthy, independent lives.

Here are three tips that can help prevent falls: exercise regularly, have your vision checked and make home safety improvements.
