A Pennsylvania man wanted in the strangling death of a woman is in custody after he was caught napping at a Virginia highway rest stop.

Officials say Virginia state troopers checking a report of a suspicious car found 32-year-old Julio Lastra sleeping in a stolen vehicle at an Interstate 95 rest stop south of Richmond.

Lastra is charged with first-degree murder in the September 25 strangulation of Marisol Rivera of Frystown. Her body was found in the trunk after Lastra crashed a car in the Harrisburg area and fled a week ago.

He's being held in the Riverside Regional Jail at Hopewell, Virginia, awaiting transport back to Pennsylvania.
