A Fairfax County judge has sentenced a
former karate teacher to six years in prison for breaking into a
Vienna townhouse and attacking his students, 10-year-old twin
sisters.
Andrew Jacobs yesterday got the sentence after apologizing to
the victims' family in court. Jacobs pleaded guilty in February.
The 43-year-old Jacobs had said he originally broke in to the
home to steal electronics and other valuables, but prosecutors said
yesterday that Jacobs was upset that the two girls had stopped
taking karate classes.
Police say the girls were able to struggle with Jacobs long
enough to wake up their parents, who smashed a lamp over his head.
They were able to pull back his ski mask to get a look at him.
