School board members say the school system can't keep growing at the rate it is without some sort of financial implications.
There's no room left on most elementary school properties for additional "learning cottages" or trailers. If the city can't afford a new school, changes will have to be made.
"That might mean larger class sizes. That might mean two-story mobile classroom," said School Board Vice Chair Tom Mendez. "But clearly we need to do something."
Mendez says he feels like the school board has done its homework to develop a plan that will meet the needs of our city today and into the future.
