Mt. Jackson's arts and crafts festival had a southern twist this year. One-hundred years ago a statue was erected in Our Soldiers' Cemetery just north of town.
Locals laid wreaths there Saturday for those who fought and died for the Confederate cause.
Delores Kagey, Chairwoman of Mt. Jackson's "Heritage Days," explained, "Heritage Days has been done for years but this is the first time we've had a Confederate celebration."
One re-enactor traveled more than 600 miles from Alabama to participate.
The weekend also marked the 140th anniversary of the death of Stonewall Jackson.
