Searchers found a Linden man missing since Thursday when his johnboat overturned on the Shenandoah River.
Julia Dixon Smith with the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries said searchers found the body of 33-year-old Bobbie Williams Junior in Clarke County yesterday, about a half-mile downstream from where the boat capsized.
She said his body was sent to the state medical examiner's office in Fairfax for an autopsy.
Williams was fishing on the Shenandoah with his wife, Donna, near the Clarke-Warren county line when he disappeared. Neither was wearing a life jacket, but Donna was able to get one when the boat overturned. She floated to the riverbank and called for help.
Smith says stormy weather and high, muddy waters in the Shenandoah hampered rescue efforts.
The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
