An old problem in Augusta County could soon be a thing of the past.
Thanks to a proposed new program, six rural Augusta County roads could soon be paved.
The Rural Rustic Road program will tar and gravel unpaved roads in Augusta County.
The program was spearheaded by the Augusta County Board of Supervisors, and could save VDOT more than $2 million in future expenses.
"We will use the existing roads, and will just put down a layer of gravel," commented VDOT. "That’s all we want," commented Mary Brothers, who lives on one of the roads that could be surfaced
The Augusta County Board of Supervisors are expected to vote on this issue on Wednesday.
