A forum in Staunton Thursday night discussed the future of health care in the United States.

The local chapter of the Virginia Organizing Project brought in a panel and viewed a video for comparison between health care in the United States and other countries.

The panel spoke on problems and much-needed solutions with current American policy, as well as the transitions that may come into play in the next few months with newly-elected officials taking office.

Residents also shared positive and negative experiences with the current health care system. Eric Milnes has had trouble with high medical bills since he became sick because his insurance company changed its coverage policy.

He says, "Our health care system is the best in the world. It's just that the administration part is the big problem. Who pays for what and how much?"

After the forum, participants were encouraged to write letters to elected officials with their own opinions about health care, believing that the time to act on policies is now.
