Veterans Day may have been last week, but one restaurant chain honored our military service men and women with a free meal Monday night.
Golden Corral held "Military Appreciation Monday" nationwide, which provided a free buffet-style meal to veterans and active military personnel.
The Golden Corral in Harrisonburg had a huge turnout with a line of people extending outside. The was was as long as 45 minutes, though local veterans say it was well worth it.
Veteran Wayne McDorman says, "They expected about a thousand, and the way it looks they probably have made that figure if not more. They've just treated us like kings and queens, and that makes for a good relationship, and it should with the community also to see how they're serving back to the veterans because the veterans served them."
Representatives from the organization, Disabled American Veterans, were also there accepting donations.
