A Fairfax County judge has denied bail for a man accused of killing a taxi driver in the Tysons Corner area.
The decision came Monday at a hearing in which a prosecutor cast doubt on the claim by 22-year-old Evan Gargiulo that he shot the cab driver in self-defense. Chief Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney Ian Rodway said 49-year-old Mazhar Nazir was shot to death while wearing his seat belt.
Nazir's body was found November 2.
Gargiulo told police he fired at the cab driver after the driver got angry and began to climb over the seat and attack him over his inability to pay the fare.
