A Harrisonburg tradition returns this week. The L&S Diner closed earlier this year after being a Valley favorite for 70 years, which left loyal customers upset.

It's scheduled to reopen for business this week as part of the Downtown Renaissance. The diner is just one of several local restaurants serving the Valley for the revitalization project.

Franklins, a new cafe and wine bar, just opened a few weeks ago and four more local hot-spots are expected to open in the next year.

As for the L&S Diner, locals like Robert Hodges, are waiting for the doors to open again. He has been a Harrisonburg resident for more than 35 years and he says he has missed having the L&S Diner being open every day.
