Charges are pending against a 14-year-old boy who police say broke into an elementary school Monday to vandalize it.
The teen was arrested last night after an alarm went off at Armel Elementary School in Frederick County. The boy initially told police there were more people in the school, but later said he lied.
Police say the teen got into the building by using bolt cutters to smash through a glass windowpane. He smashed several windows and glass structures in the school, causing about $1,000 in damage.
Police say charges could include breaking and entering and destruction of property.
