A five-year-old Cabell County boy has died in a mobile home fire.

Ohio River Road Volunteer Fire Department Chief David Ash says the fire was reported at 1:47 a.m. Friday at a mobile home on Oak Hill Road in Lesage.

Ash says the boy's mother and brother escaped the fire.

Cabell County sheriff's Lt. Doug Ferguson identified the victim as Preston Childers and the mother as Tanya McCallister. The other child's name wasn't immediately available.

Ferguson says authorities believe the fire may have started in the living room. The victim was found in the back bedroom.

Ash says the state Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the fire. A cause hasn't been determined.

No other details were immediately available.
