Two nonprofit groups announced they are canceling an event at the university to protest the school's decision to stop distributing the morning-after birth-control pill on campus.
Virginians Aligned Against Sexual Assault and Virginians Against Domestic Violence say they're canceling an annual training retreat at the school.
The pill first came under fire when a Virginia legislator criticized several universities for distributing it claiming the pill was a form of abortion.
JMU Board of Visitors then banned the pill.
