A Kentucky man convicted of a federal charge stemming from the abduction and rape of an 11-year-old girl will be sentenced next month.
Joshua Ridings of Owensboro is scheduled to appear before U.S. District Judge Frederick Stamp on January 12.
The 29-year-old pleaded guilty in October to a federal charge of crossing a state line with the intent to engage in a sexual act with a person under the age of 12.
Authorities say the girl was taken from Wheeling into Belmont County, Ohio, and sexually assaulted in February 2007.
Under a plea agreement, Ridings could spend 40 years in federal prison.
State charges of kidnapping, first-degree sexual assault and second-degree sexual assault are pending.
Kentucky authorities have charged Ridings in a 2007 attack on a woman there.
