JMU students donned their caps and gowns again Saturday for a make-up graduation ceremony. Lightning postponed graduation for almost 2,000 students last month. This morning, only about 200 returned for the pomp and circumstance. For many of them, it was just the closure they needed.
Sean Pflueger, a JMU Graduate, explained, "I really wanted to have this ceremony. I really wanted to go up and shake the President's hand and get my degree."
This is the first time JMU has ever had to postpone graduation. School officials are discussing better back-up plans for future ceremonies.
