A Harrisonburg business is a total loss after a fire Monday night. Firefighters were called to Fulk Landscape and Garden Center around 9:30 p.m.

Fire officials say damages are estimated to be about $85,000, which will likely increase after an insurance estimate.

Nobody was in the building at the time of the fire, but officials investigated and say they found the cause of the blaze.

"Fire marshals returned to the scene today to investigate the cause of the fire, and found that the fire originated around an LP gas heater that was left on to keep the business warm at night," says Harrisonburg deputy fire marshal Arthur Miller.

Fire officials say Fulk Landscaping had stored their equipment in the building and had the heater on in preparation for a forecasted ice storm.
