Managers at a local store are being more cautious after they say a customer tried to pay with $140 in counterfeit money Tuesday.

Managers at Red Front supermarket called Harrisonburg Police after they say a female customer used fake $20 bills.

A store clerk noticed the bills felt a little funny, so she used a pen to check for counterfeits.

Store managers say it was clear the money was not real. They say they usually only check bills for larger amounts, but now that's going to change.

"We would just do the hundreds and fifties because that was the worst [for counterfeits]. But, now that this has come through, we will be doing all of them," says supervisor Cindy Bolton.

Bolton says this is the worst incident of its kind the store has experienced. Harrisonburg police say the investigation is being handled by the Secret Service.

A few years ago I cashed my paycheck at a local bank and they gave me two counterfeit 100 dollar bills. I always check my money and went back and they exchanged the money for real bills. The point is you can get counterfeit money anywhere. Also passing counterfeit money does not mean you are guilty of a crime.

This is such a tragedy. How can someone hit another person and not stop? They may have been able to save her life. My thoughts and prayers are with the many friends and family of Mrs. Anderson. I grieve for them. May God Bless each one.

A committee in the House of Delegates has sent a bill to the House floor that would allow private, faith-based adoption agencies to discriminate against prospective parents based on their sexual orientation. Would you support this?

Yes, I think if it is a private organization it's okay.
No, there should be no discrimination.
It should depend on a case by case basis.
