A Strasburg mother who allegedly tried to drown her own son entered an Alford plea to reduced charges.

Twenty-three-year-old Samantha Dale had her charges reduced to one count of bodily injury and one count of child abuse.

Both charges carry a maximum prison sentence of ten years.

In an Alford plea, a defendant does not admit guilt but acknowledges there is enough evidence for a conviction.

Sentencing is set for March 11. Her six-year-old boy is reportedly living with a relative and doing well.

What is wrong with you people! Have you ears that do not hear and eyes that do not see? You are so judgmental that you fail to realize that an ALFORD plea is NOT an admission of guilt. God forbid "As I see it" or "Anonymous" should ever find themselves in a similar situation. Why would you even speak to anything you know nothing about? All you do is spread your petty prejudice remarks with no inkling of the truth. You were not in the courtroom that day to hear what the commonwealth said...I was. If you want to know more about this situation go to nvdaily.com. It is a fairly accurate depiction of what transpired the last day of court. SHAME ON ALL OF YOU WHO THROW STONES AT INNOCENT PEOPLE. It is people like you who sent Jesus to the cross!

She took the plea agreement becaused she knew she did it. If someone had accused me of drowing my son, which I would never ever do, I'd fight like hell. I doubt the little boy lied about this. and I agree, she prob though he was dead and thought she might be able to get away with it, so she prob freaked and called 911 and said he wasn't breathing.

Innocent people do get caught up in the legal system, but forensics never lie! "IF", Sammantha is innocent it will come out, but an innocent person would not plead guilty! Perhaps if more people had the Lord, things like crimes against children would not happen!!! I'm NOT speaking in hate! I am glad that the legal system is sticking up for the innocent child, all too often these things slip threw the cracks. I do pray that Justice will Prevail. Besides NO ONE knows exactly what happened, except the mother, and child, unless you are either, you are also in the dark! I pray for the boy that this trajety, does not scar him for life. Only calling it as I see it! Also throwing the Lord's name around as you do, is not helpful, you know not what is in anyones heart, except your own, so maybe watch what you say! I'll be haunted by nothing!
