WASHINGTON (AP) Sen. Robert C. Byrd says he's loved every minute of his 50 years in the U.S. Senate.

Sen. Robert C. Byrd says he's loved every minute of his 50 years in the U.S. Senate.
Byrd celebrated his half-century of service Wednesday as the 111th Congress convened.
The 91-year-old West Virginia Democrat is the longest-serving senator in history. He first won election to the Senate in 1958 after serving in the House and the West Virginia Legislature.
